WHAT IS THE NO ABUSE STRATEGY?
This community strategy aims to reduce the prevalence of domestic and family violence in our community and was launched by JewishCare in 2021.
Domestic violence does happen in the Jewish community and we’re here to help promote healthy relationships and support individuals and families in need.
There are many types of abuse used to gain power and control over another person. Mainstream media reports focus on physical violence HOWEVER there are many other more subtle, silent types of abuse that are just as harmful.
The objectives of the strategy isto raise awareness, educate and empower members of the community in addition to providing support to individuals and their families experiencing domestic and family violence.
WHAT SUPPORTS AND SERVICES DOES THE NO ABUSE STRATEGY OFFER?
Support – individual, private and confidential sessions; psychosocial education groups
DFV Workshops, Events and Training for community members, religious leaders, schools, professionals and organisations.
