To be eligible for a Home Care Package, you must be 65 years or older. If you’re an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, you must be 50 years or older.

Check Your Eligibility and Apply

The first step in accessing government-funded aged care services is to check your eligibility. This can be done online on the My Aged Care website or by calling their centre staff on 1800 200 422.


Have Your Assessment

If your application is successful, you will be referred for an assessment. Assessments are done in person, in the comfort of your own home.

How will I know if I qualify for a Level 3 package?

To know if you qualify for a Level 3 package, you must first be assessed. You can apply for an assessment online or you can call My Aged Care on 1800 200 422. The online application is quick and easy but if you prefer, their aged care assessment team can talk with you about your needs and circumstances and make the application for you.

While the government provides significant funding (approximately $54,597.07 in 2023), you may still need to contribute out-of-pocket based on your income and assets.
